The Savage Gear Low Glider Jerk 17 cm goes straight down to where the big pike sit. It glides from side to side with a wide, sometimes unpredictable action and throws off bright belly flashes on every turn — exactly the kind of movement that makes a following fish commit.

Fish it slowly and smoothly along drop-offs, over structure or in open water. The slow sinking rate lets you count it down to the depth you want and keep it there, and the through-wire construction handles both your hookset and everything a brutal predator throws at it. Inside the PU-foam filled body sits a loud tubular rattle that pulls fish in from a distance in coloured water.

At 17 cm and 112 g this is the bigger of the two sizes — the one to reach for on hard-fished waters and in autumn, when pike are looking for a proper meal. Prefer a smaller profile or a lighter rod? Then the 14.5 cm version is the better match.
