BKK is a family hook maker from Poyang in China that has been forging hooks since 1856, six generations on, and it was the first hook brand ever to win the Japanese Good Design award. BKK Hyperlatch Round Jig Hooks: jig heads for shads

The BKK Hyperlatch Round Jig Hooks are our best-selling jig heads for zander and perch. A round head with weight markings for quick identification, a wide gap hook in Hyper Carbon Steel with a needle point and Super Slide coating, and the Hyperlatch bait keeper that locks a shad in place and stops it sliding down after a bite. BKK trebles and assist hooks: Spear-21 SS and Hyperlatch-71 SS

The BKK treble hook Spear-21 SS is the treble that European pike anglers put on their jerkbaits, glidebaits and swimbaits: a round bend, a needle point, a forged shank for extra strength and the Super Slide coating that lets the point slide in with less pressure. The BKK Armorpoint Hyperlatch-71 SS is the newer medium-wire treble in the Armorpoint series, which BKK makes about 25 percent stronger and 30 percent harder than its previous steel, with a round bend for hooking and an O'Shaughnessy style bend for holding big fish. The BKK Assist Spear-21 SS Hooks are the same Spear-21 treble on a welded wire, made to mount on top of a big softbait for vertical and pelagic zander fishing, with all three points exposed for short-striking fish. BKK stinger rigs: BB Trigger-21 UVO and Chain Stinger Rig

A big shad for pike or zander needs a stinger, and BKK makes two of the best. The BKK BB Trigger-21 UVO Stinger Rig was developed with the guides of Black Bay Lodge: a Spear-21 treble in UV orange on a short wire with a small lead, screwed into the belly of the softbait, so a fish that hits short still finds a hook. The BKK Chain Stinger Rig puts the treble on a short chain instead of wire, so the stinger follows the action of the bait without stiffening it, and it is the stinger we recommend on the ULM Lures Gigabite and other big paddle tails. BKK Titan Rider, Predator WG and Dropshot Hook: single hooks for softbaits

The BKK Titan Rider is the swimbait hook for rigging big softbaits weedless through vegetation: a forged shank, a deep throat with an extended point, a locking spring keeper and a silicone stopper that slides down on the bite so the hook drives home without resistance. The BKK Predator WG is the wide gap finesse hook for wacky, drop shot and light offset rigs for perch and zander, with a micro barb for easy unhooking. BKK IMP Single Hook: inline single for hardbaits

The BKK IMP Single Hook replaces the trebles on crankbaits, jerkbaits and sea bass lures. It is light enough not to change the action of the lure, thick enough in the wire to hold a pike or a sea bass, with a micro barb and a matte tin coating for fresh and salt water. Single hooks mean faster unhooking and fewer damaged fish, and on some waters they are required. Good on our Seabass Hardbaits and Crankbaits and Twitchbaits.

What does SS mean on BKK hooks?

SS stands for Super Slide, BKK's low-friction coating that lets the hook point penetrate with less pressure. It is not stainless steel; the hooks are Hyper Carbon Steel with a corrosion-resistant finish.

Which BKK treble replaces the trebles on my lure?

Match the size of the original treble and go for the Spear-21 SS on most jerkbaits and swimbaits; choose the Armorpoint Hyperlatch-71 SS when you want a stronger hook for big pike on a heavy rod.

Which BKK stinger rig for a big shad?

For paddle tails from about 15 cm, use the Chain Stinger Rig: the chain follows the tail action. For short-striking pike on a stop-and-go retrieve, the BB Trigger-21 UVO with its UV orange treble gets more hook-ups.
