Nays is a young German lure brand from Berlin, founded in 2019 by Dustin Schöne and Marcel Mandry, with a team of anglers, designers and engineers behind every bait. The brand is built on simple, functional designs with a look of their own, and every lure goes through a long development and testing phase before it reaches the shops. The softbaits are hand-painted and made without harmful plasticizers, and the hardbaits come rigged with BKK hooks. Nays TRN: the swimbait with the Rapid Switch System

The TRN is the lure that made Nays known across Europe. It is a two-piece swimbait you can rebuild on the water: swap the tail and the lip in seconds with the Rapid Switch System, and the same lure goes from a wide S-curve glide to a hard, aggressive action. Both tails and both lips are in the box, with an insert or clip weight to set the running depth. The Nays TRN 190 is 190 mm and 56 g with the fishtail, joined by two BKK Crane swivels rated to 200 kg, for pike and big zander on a baitcaster. New in the range, and set to be our next favourite, is the Nays TRN 130: the same Rapid Switch System at 130 mm and 19 g, rigged with BKK Hyperlatch Super Slide hooks on BKK Crane swivels. It brings TRN action to a medium-weight swimbait rod, which makes it the TRN for zander, perch and smaller pike water, and an easy swimbait to fish all day. Nays TRN spare tails, lips and weights

Every part of the TRN 190 is sold separately, so you can repair a chewed tail or build the lure you want. Nays GHST and TWN: big twisters for trophy pike

The GHST is the Nays curly tail twister for big fish: a massive tail that keeps rolling at a crawl, a ribbed body with a realistic eye and a hand-painted finish. The GHST 80 (20 cm, 46 g) is the most versatile size, on a jighead, a big offset hook or a shallow rig, the GHST 100 (25 cm, 89 g) is made for the shallow rig over weed and flats, and the GHST 120 (30 cm, 142 g) is a true big bait for trophy pike. Their slim bodies are easy to take deeper with added weight. The TWN is the double tail version: two massive tails and a wide body that push even more water. The TWN 60 (15 cm, 34 g) works on a big jighead, a weedless offset hook or as a trailer behind a bucktail, the TWN 80 (20 cm, 74 g) and TWN 100 (25 cm, 142 g) are the shallow rig sizes for slow fishing in coloured water. Nays HNTR 90: big paddle tail for pike and zander

The Nays HNTR 90 is a 23 cm, 80 g paddle tail with a broad body and an oversized tail that sends strong pressure waves and a pronounced roll, even on a slow retrieve on a shallow rig. It is the softbait for putting a full-size baitfish in front of big pike and large zander over structure and in coloured water. Nays PRDTR, GHST JNR and NTRL: softbaits for zander and perch

The PRDTR 2.0 is the redesigned Nays paddle tail with a broad, stable body and a restrained roll for pressured water and cold days, infused with garlic scent so a fish holds on longer: the PRDTR 35 2.0 (8,9 cm) for perch and zander, the PRDTR 50 2.0 (12,7 cm) for zander and pike. The GHST JNR is the curly tail for the same job, with a flowing tail that works at every speed: the GHST JNR 35 (8,9 cm) and the GHST JNR 50 (12,7 cm), also a good trailer on a chatterbait or spinnerbait. The Nays NTRL 35 is the finesse bait: an 8,9 cm baitfish profile with reflective foil inside, for drop shot, jighead and mid-strolling when fish are cautious in clear water. Nays LPR and CRNK FLT: lipless crankbait and crankbait

The LPR is a sinking lipless crankbait that casts far, starts swimming at a slow retrieve and stays stable at speed, so it covers every depth from a steady retrieve to deep water jigging. It is lead-free and rigged with BKK Spear-21 SS hooks, in 5,5 cm (9,9 g) and 7,5 cm (20,6 g). The Nays LPR has a loud rattle for coloured water and active fish, the Nays LPR Silent has no rattle for clear water and pressured fish. The Nays CRNK FLT 75 MR is a 7,5 cm slow-floating crankbait with a balanced roll and wobble that rises gently on the pause, running 0,8 to 1,5 m, for casting or trolling for perch, zander, asp and pike. What is the difference between the TRN 190 and the TRN 130?

Size and target fish. The TRN 190 (190 mm, 56 g) is the pike and big zander swimbait for a baitcaster. The TRN 130 (130 mm, 19 g) brings the same Rapid Switch System to a lighter class for zander, perch and smaller pike.

GHST or TWN for pike?

The GHST has one big curly tail and a slim body that is easy to fish deeper with added weight. The TWN has two tails and a wider body that pushes more water, so it shines on a shallow rig in coloured water.
