The Revo VoltiQ X is the reel you pick up when you want to stop thinking about your brake setting and start thinking about your fishing. It sits on the same rigid, compact platform as the standard Revo X, but the magnetic brake has been replaced by Abu Garcia's VoltiQ electronic casting system. You get the casting control of a reel you have spent a season tuning, straight out of the box.

VoltiQ reads how fast the spool is turning during the cast and adjusts the braking force continuously. Early in the cast it lets the spool run, and it only steps in when the spool starts to overrun. That means longer casts with fewer backlashes, and it keeps working when the wind picks up or when you swap from a 15 g crankbait to a 40 g swimbait. The system is fully sealed to IPX8 and needs no battery or charger, so there is nothing to plug in and nothing to fail in the rain.

Outside there is a dial with ten settings. 1 to 3 is Pro Mode, minimum braking and maximum distance for experienced casters. 4 to 6 covers most anglers and most lures. 7 to 9 gives you more control with heavier baits, thicker line or a headwind, and 10 is full braking for big baits in hard wind.
