Rod Crab: how the rod clip works

The Rod Crab is a compact clamp with a spring hinge and two curved jaws. You clip it over the rod sections lying side by side, and the spring holds them firmly in place during transport and storage. The curved clamps fit all common rod diameters, and because the sections can no longer move against each other, the blank and the rod tip are protected against scratches and wear. A practical loop on the clip takes the hook of your lure, so it stays put instead of swinging around, catching your clothes or tangling the line. Rod Crab Soft and Rod Crab Standard: which spring for which rod

Both versions have the same shape, clamps and hook loop; the difference is the spring. The Rod Crab Soft has a gentle spring for sensitive rod tips. It is our pick for light perch and zander rods, and a good choice for beginners or anyone who prefers a softer touch. The Rod Crab Standard has a strong spring with a firm grip for heavier, sturdier rods, the right choice for pike, carp and catfish setups.
