FishXplorer at Charlie's Fishing: the Brocator fishing glove with magnetic clip
FishXplorer is a fishing accessories brand, and the Brocator is its fishing glove: a glove that you put on and take off with one hand, held ready on a magnetic clip. It protects your hand when you unhook predators with sharp or rasping teeth, and it gives you a firm grip on a wet fish. At Charlie's Fishing we stock the FishXplorer Brocator glove in right-hand and left-hand versions. Below you find what it is for and how to use it.
FishXplorer Brocator glove: a safer grip when you unhook
The FishXplorer Glove Gant Brocator is made from 60% polyethylene, 30% nylon and 10% latex coated elastane, with a puncture resistant shell and a grippy palm. It helps prevent hand injuries from fish with sharp or rasping teeth and lets you take treble hooks out of the mouth of a pike with less risk. The magnetic clip with snap hook goes on your vest, bag or belt: the glove hangs on the magnet, you pull it free and slip it on with one hand, and your other hand stays on the rod to control the fight. When the fish is released, the glove clicks back onto the magnet. Wet the glove before you handle a fish, so you remove as little of its protective slime as possible. We stock it in sizes L and XXL, for the right or the left hand. Take the hand you grip and unhook the fish with. More in Essentials and Fishing nets.
Which FishXplorer glove for which situation
• Unhooking a pike with trebles: the Brocator on the hand that holds the fish.
• Zander and catfish with rasping teeth: the Brocator for a firm grip on the jaw.
• Lifting a fish out of the net for a photo: wet the glove first to protect the slime layer.
• Fishing from a boat or a float tube: the magnetic clip keeps the glove within reach and out of the way.
• Right or left: choose the hand you unhook with, not the hand you hold the rod with. See Pike, Zander, Perch and Catfish.
Why buy FishXplorer at Charlie's Fishing
We picked the Brocator glove because a safe grip on a predator makes unhooking quicker for you and for the fish. Every product ships from our own stock in the Netherlands with fast delivery across Europe, and we are happy to help you choose the right size and hand. Looking for a present? The Charlie's Fishing Giftbox is a handpicked mix of predator lures and tackle.
Should I take the left-hand or the right-hand Brocator glove?
Take the hand you use to grip and unhook the fish. Most anglers hold the rod in one hand and handle the fish with the other, and that second hand is the one that needs the glove.
How does the magnetic clip of the Brocator work?
The clip attaches to your vest, bag or belt with a snap hook. The glove sticks to the magnet, so you can pull it off and put it back with one hand.
Is a fishing glove bad for the fish?
Not when you wet it first. A wet glove removes less of the protective slime than a dry one, and a firm grip means you need less time to unhook the fish.
