Frapp Tricky Tail 10" – Curly Tail Softbait, 25 cm / 101 g

The Frapp Tricky Tail 10" is the big curly tail softbait in the Frapp range, made for pike that want a full-size meal. Rigged on a BKK Chain Stinger Rig or a VMC Pike Chain Rig it is a complete big bait in its own right, and it also screws onto the Frapp Rowdy Head when you want a longer, heavier profile than the 8" trailer it comes with.

The tail is long and strongly bent, with an extended inner edge that catches the water and turns it into a clear, pulsing vibration. That vibration holds up at medium and high retrieve speeds, where thinner curly tails start to flutter. The body is triangular, narrow on the back and broad at the base, which puts the centre of gravity low: at 101 g the lure rolls steadily instead of tipping over when you speed up or work it with sharp jigging strokes.

The 10" measures 25 cm and weighs 101 g, so fish it on a baitcaster setup made for big baits. Rigged alone, the BKK Chain Stinger Rig 2/0 is the hook we use, or start from a VMC Pike Chain Rig and clip an Illex John Weight to it when the pike sit deeper.
