The Frapp Tricky Tail 8" is a big curly tail softbait for pike. It is the trailer that comes on the Frapp Rowdy Head, and on its own it makes a complete pike lure on a BKK Chain Stinger Rig or a VMC Pike Chain Rig. With 20 cm of body and tail it pushes a lot of water for its weight and casts well on a heavy spinning rod or a baitcaster.

The tail is long and strongly bent, with an extended inner edge that catches the water and turns it into a clear, pulsing vibration. That vibration holds up at medium and high retrieve speeds, where thinner curly tails start to flutter. The body is triangular, narrow on the back and broad at the base, which puts the centre of gravity low: the lure rolls steadily instead of tipping over when you speed up or work it with sharp jigging strokes.

The 8" is the size fitted on the Rowdy Head, so it is the one to keep as a spare when a pike has chewed the tail. For a bigger profile the Frapp Tricky Tail 10" (25 cm, 101 g) fits the same screw system.
