What started as a product idea grew into a full adventure that took us through colour design, testing sessions and even a journey to France to visit the VMC factory. We watched how hooks are shaped, heat-treated, sharpened and tested, and we chose the VMC UV Orange trebles for this Rapala Limited Edition model. These hooks are highly visible, incredibly strong and complement our colour design perfectly. This experience gave even more meaning to our collaboration with Rapala and VMC.

Creating a Rapala Limited Edition Colour Pattern From Scratch

Years of fishing experience with the Super Shadow Rap Glide gave us a clear idea of what we wanted to refine. A Rapala Limited Edition colour needed to be effective across all conditions, visible in both bright and low light, and still natural enough to convince predators. The result was a detailed custom Perch pattern that uses golden highlights to create flash on sunny days, black stripes and an orange belly for contrast in murky or low-light conditions, and UV Orange hooks to help predators track the lure from distance.

To maximise flexibility, the Rapala Limited Edition Super Shadow Rap Glide 11 comes with two tails: a red one for clear water and an orange one for murky situations. The interchangeable tail system allows anglers to instantly match the lure to the environment.
